In the Spring of 1998 a 12-week pilot youth project was set up in Kilkeel. The premises (kindly donated) were laid out in the theme of Star Trek and was called JIMS. The project offered a soft drinks bar, snack food, music, games such as darts, pool and play stations etc.
Since then, JIMS has expanded and grown into the centre that the community calls JIMS. We target youth and adults alike for various programmes. JIMS holds numerous theme events in our new end as well has hosting regular drop-in Friday and Saturday nights each weekend. Check out our programme page for further details.
There were tears shed from our Man U men, triumphant smiles from the Liverpool snobs, and contentment from the supportive ladies. Saturday night brought our annual viewing of the Champions League final…

JIMS and Kingdom seniors entered into another Romance Academy this spring. The youth participated in discussions, games, competitions, and more. Overall, they reported it was great fun, education, and challenging.

When summer hits Kilkeel, no matter the month, we all enjoy a bit of sunburn, picnic, and a good water fight. JIMS and Kingdom youth hiked to the Blue Lough for those reasons.

The JIMS Romania team is hosting a fundraising in the function room (alongside drop-in). Anyone in 3rd year and older is very welcome to attend – admission £2.50. All funds raised will go to support the team. Spread the word and bring your friends!
