In the Spring of 1998 a 12-week pilot youth project was set up in Kilkeel. The premises (kindly donated) were laid out in the theme of Star Trek and was called JIMS. The project offered a soft drinks bar, snack food, music, games such as darts, pool and play stations etc.
Since then, JIMS has expanded and grown into the centre that the community calls JIMS. We target youth and adults alike for various programmes. JIMS holds numerous theme events in our new end as well has hosting regular drop-in Friday and Saturday nights each weekend. Check out our programme page for further details.

The JIMS managment committee is hosting a time of group prayer: we’ll be thanking God for what He’s done in the past 10 years while offering petitions for the future. We’d love all to join in no matter the age.
This larger prayer meeting is the first of three organized gatherings that will occur in the coming year of JIMS.
Wednesdays in September: 8th, 15th, and 22nd
JIMS and Kingdom partner together in September to see if we can learn the moves of the karate kid in 3 short weeks. Seriously though, we’re gathering 3 Wednesday nights for a bit of taewan-do training provided by Paul Culter. Those who participate all the way through will then travel to Belfast for an afternoon of laser tag fun. All this for a mere £5.00!
Training will take place at Kingdom Youth 7.00pm-9.00pm (or thereabouts). Limited spaces avaliable…so talk with Megan asap if you’d like to join the group!
