Introducing Megan, Paul, Kimberly, and Becca
Back to the List of the Crew
Megan Gearhart
I am Megan. 24 by the time this gets around to anyone truly interested in the Crew program…from northern Michigan. I’m a country gal through and through, farmer’s daughter, and a follower of Christ. I came to Kilkeel in the summer of 2006, decided to return that September and have stayed on for another year here at JIMS. Before entering the Crew program, I was studying Theology at Calvin Seminary with hopes of getting my Master’s of Divinity. Although I loved the classes and the studies, God clearly showed me that’s not the right avenue for me to be taking – instead, He paved the way and pushed me into the JIMS family!
Paul Bronsink
Hello everyone, my name is Paul Bronsink. I came to JIMS from Grand Rapids, Michigan in the United States. I am 24 years old, and graduated from university with a degree in business management about a month before I left to come here. I was also working as a truck driver for a small kitchens and baths company delivering cabinets and countertops to construction sites, which I loved doing. I love fishing, and do quite a bit of it back home. I found out about JIMS through one of the volunteers last year, Daniel DeVries. I have greatly enjoyed my time here so far, and have really appreciated how helpful and encouraging everybody has been in welcoming me.
Kimberly McCallum
My name is Kimberly McCallum and I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After college I moved about an hour away and taught fifth grade for several years. I first came to JIMS with Youth for Christ’s Summer Serve program. The next summer I came again as part of the Switch team that JIMS brought over from America. It was during that second summer that I decided to return for a year.
Becca Dean
I’m 23 years old and graduated from university in May with a degree in Social Studies Education. I love being outside in Creation, whether it’s hiking, camping, canoeing, walking, or just mucking about. Also, I really enjoy curling up under a blanket and watching a movie or reading a book. Originally, I’m from Indiana in the States, about 45 minutes from Chicago, but I’m really happy to call Kilkeel my home for the year. Two years ago I really felt God calling me to come to Northern Ireland and He opened door after door to lead me here to JIMS. It’s been absolutely incredible to build relationships with the young people here and come alongside them and encourage them. I can’t wait to see what the rest of the year will bring!
