Blackout

Blackout

For 48 hours young people from the Mourne area gave up Twitter, Facebok, iTunes, TV and more…making a big noise by being quiet.

Friday night, Blackout kicked off at Christ Church with the ‘persecuted church game’. The aim of the game: to start a church without being captured by the police (local youth workers). This evening gave participants an eye into what it’s like to be persecuted for their faith.

Sunday evening concluded our time of silence at JIMS Youth Centre. Our speaker highlighted the millions of Secret children living in hostile places around the world, enslaved in various forms for being Christians or having Christian parents.

Throughout the weekend, youth from JIMS prayed for brothers and sisters in Christ across the world who lack our freedom to worship. As a vivid act of remembrance we sent off Chinese lanterns Sunday night – a visual prayer for the worldwide Church.
