Credit Crunch Disco
Due to the current state of the economy, JIMS put on a Credit Crunch Disco on Saturday, 2 May, 2009. Because we “couldn’t afford” the function room, we were back in the drop-in room and charged a discounted price for entrance. The challenge for the night was to find the most hideous outfit from either a charity shop or the backs of the closets at home. Though there were some amazingly awful outfits, the night itself was a blast!
Jason won the competition with the best worst outfit. He and Andrew came dressed as hoboes, knapsacks and all. Julie-Anne, Emma, Claire, and Rachel also showed some great creativity with their charity shop outfits. The Crew represented with Megan and Becca wearing matching hideous dresses they found for a bargain at the charity shop.
Everyone loved being back in the purple room and we had a lot of fun dancing. The most popular of the night were the group dances. We had the usual YMCA, Macarena, and Cha Cha Slide, but we added some more fun ones as well. We rocked out to “Saturday Night” and brought back out “Rock the Boat.” Thanks to all who came! We can’t wait for the next one!
