FIFA Tournament
JIMS held its first ever FIFA tournament this past Saturday, 29 May. A big congratulations to Peter Thorogood fought his way through the contenders and emerged victorious!
Young and old, male and female, veterans and novices alike competed in the virtual world of football to claim the title of FIFA 10 champion and the £15 voucher for HMV. The tournament kicked off at about 9pm with contestants battling in 8 minute matches. As the evening progressed and the original field of 16 grew smaller, the matches grew longer until only two were left. Conor and Peter played for an intense 12 minutes before Peter was declared the winner. Conor graciously accepted defeat and his £10 consolation prize but will definitely be looking forward to a chance to try again for the title.
Many thanks to those who brought in their extra game consoles and games, our participants, and those who cheered them on! There was a great atmosphere in the drop in room and we’re looking forward to the chance to do it all again!
