FUN DAY 2009
This year we had the best turn out yet at the Hillside Drive community fun day. With loads of families in attendance, the kids enjoyed face painthing, balloons, and Pablos inflateables; the adults took part in the free BBQ and shared in the laughs.
The adventure up Hillside Drive was a bright sunny day which obviously helped bring the folks out of houses and onto the grassy area for a day of fun. Thanks to ‘Summer Splash’ JIMS was able to host our third fun day up in the Newry Street community. But this year, it was just the folks from Hillside Drive who showed up – a few from town also ventured out for the fun.
The Project 6.8 team had a blast playing football with young and older teens throughout the day. The team also had a great time mixing with the young folks by each of the highlighted areas and activities. We had our very own Kimberly who made some great balloons: including helicopter, dogs, and some brilliant swords. Our Becca became a fast artist with the face paints – her speciality being tigers.
We want to say a big thank you to: Summer Splash our funders. And more-so, to our Creator and God for such great weather, a great turn out, and for the safety of everyone. Thanks also to each of you who showed up and helped with BBQ, staffing various areas, and those who simply came to hang out with the community!
