Girls’ and Boys’ Day Out

Girls’ and Boys’ Day Out

Instead of Girls’ Night In and Boys’ Night In this month, JIMS took the kids on a day out to Dundonald! 22 juniors and 5 leaders spent Saturday afternoon at the Ice Bowl enjoying the sunshine, friends, food, and lots of fun!

Up first was a game of cosmic bowling! It’s amazing how much more fun black lights and glowing lanes make thrown a ball at pins! Kids and leaders alike battled it out for top scores and cheered each other on. Though we’re unsure who ended up with the highest score, all the students cared about was that it wasn’t Mr. Dave McIlveen. Yeo!

We then headed outside for a round of crazy pirate golf! The sun was shining and it was lovely out, which is good because several people got splashed from the “cannonballs” fired into the water traps. The course was full of people enjoying the weather and the kids had a great time shooting for a hole-in-one, laughing when they got stuck in the course obstacles, and just enjoying each others’ company.

Following a meal in the cafe, we piled back onto the bus and headed back to Kilkeel. Overall we had a fantastic time and everyone hopes to have another trip in the near future!

I’m pretty sure Mr Lucas was talking about his score when bowling.
