Girls’ Night Out: Slieve Roe House

Girls’ Night Out: Slieve Roe House

This month, JIMS girls gathered to sing choruses at Slieve Roe House in Kilkeel. The six of us truly enjoyed singing with the residents and chatting with them afterwards.

Although there was no one significantly confident in carrying a tune, we were received with open arms by the residents at Slieve Roe. Some enjoyed the powerful songs so much that they joined in. The girls also taught a few new songs – including motions (Our God is a Great Big God).

Following the singing, our group took time to chat with a few of the folks. The juniors were encouraged by their elders as they listened to their stories and words of spiritual encouragement.

There is strong agreement that we’d like to return in the near future for something similar.
