JIMS Acoustic Cafe
Comfy Sofas. Live music. Amazing desserts. Red candles. Brilliant milkshakes.
Saturday, JIMS hosted our first acoustic cafe night in the drop-in room. This went down like a fabulous treat for the youth…we’ve already been asked if we can run one of these each weekend!
A few of the local celebs that shared some talent included:
Chloe Simpson – beautifully displayed how to play the piano
Colin Christie – sang some fantastic tunes
Stephen Henderson – brought life with the bass guitar to various songs
David McIlroy – interpreted pieces on the guitar
William Hutchinson – brought tears to many eyes with his version of ‘Collide’
Claire Nicolson, Charlotte McGrath, Sarah Tomins – all added gorgeous background vocals to numerous songs
Dean Hammond – majestically rapped bringing joy to the crowd
Matthew Irvine – provided needed beats on a lovely drum
John McGrath – debuted at JIMS with an amazing band
Rachel Hannah – ended the night with grace and beauty
JIMS would like to thank the following people for making the night such a fantastic success:
John Finlay: for making the best milkshakes ever
Rachel Hanna: for sorting out the hot drinks
Youth Committee: for providing tray bakes
BE: for donating the left over desserts
Lindsey and Joanne: for helping clean up all the messes
For those that were in the crowd – we’d love for you to leave a few comments below so we know how to make the next one just as good if not better!

It was brilliant!! It was really good to see so many people in. I think it would be an awesome idea to do it more often…it gives people a reason to come in!
