Spur of the moment…becuase it’s gorgeous outside!
When summer hits Kilkeel, no matter the month, we all enjoy a bit of sunburn, picnic, and a good water fight. JIMS and Kingdom youth hiked to the Blue Lough for those reasons.
Our small group started the hike at 1pm…at which point those who had never been that close to the Mournes were already wondering how far up we had to walk. Eventually, they gave up asking ‘are we almost there yet’ and enjoyed the wilderness of Northern Ireland.
Once we accomplished our task and got to the water, we enjoyed lunch…and a water fight.
Overall, the group enjoyed the day out and some are already asking when our next ‘hike’ is…perhaps we’ll tackle Donard on another sunny day soon.
