Summer Madness!!

Summer Madness!!

We’ve been quite busy here at JIMS this summer and we started off with a bang at Summer Madness in Belfast! We spent 3-7 July with hundreds of other young people from across the UK and Ireland learning about how we can “Get Connected” with God, each other, and the world.

Kings Hall was the place to be for these 5 fantastic days of camping, worship, seminars, crazy games, workshops, competitions, and great conversations. We took a group of about 30 and had a great time hanging out together in the sessions, seminars, and our food tent that may have been a bit too small!

During the main stage sessions we had the privilege of hearing speakers like Andy Hickford, Rachel Gardiner, and Jason Clarke. Throughout the week we were led in praise by Ryan Griffith and Paul Baloche. Our group attended a variety of seminars with more specific topics such as connecting with the worldwide church, girls issues, interpreting the Bible, boys issues, stages of faith, youth workers issues, God and Facebook, interacting with other religions, and many more!

Back at camp we played football, cards, a rousing game of zip-bong, and enjoyed lots of great camping food. Thankfully, the rain stayed away for most of the time and we were able to just sit outside out tents and chat about life and what we were learning. We had a great time and though we didn’t get much sleep, we got lots of memories!
