Team Trip to London
The JIMS full-time team headed to London for a bit of personal time – and thr rainy tour of London. We were blessed to enjoy the Soul Survivor retreat for youth leaders, called Soul Net, while doing a bit of team bonding.
Although youth work might seem like all fun and laughes, at times it can be a tad challenging…and youth leaders certainly deserve a bit of relaxation, personal growth, and spiritual encouragement. The JIMS team was sent to Sherwood Forest (yes, where Robin Hood is from) for a bit of the necessary time out from the youth centre.
We as a team had a blast playing in the snow, walking in the freezing wind, and most of all praising our Saviour alongside hundreds of other youth workers. We were each challenged and strengthened in our walk with the Lord over the weekend while being saturaited in biblical teaching and great praise and prayer.
As a team we thank all those who stayed behind and picked up our slack – allowing us to leave Kilkeel for a weekend. We missed you all loads, but honestly, we’re glad that you weren’t with us, and that instead you were keeping an eye on things at JIMS. In truth, you who served at JIMS this past weekend blessed the team in wonderful ways.
The benefit of traveling to Sherwood Forest in England, was that the Americans on the team were close enough to visit London as well – and for us, that’s an exotic trip! We had loads of laughes and fun in the rainy city while capturing the traditional tourist pictures for memories. Not only was the day a great bonding experience for our team, but the late evening hours spent in the airport taught us patience with each other and technology.
Thanks again to you all who helped make the weekend open for our team to step back from JIMS for a weekend. We do hope and pray that we’re able to continue serving you all at the youth centre!
