the faithful walking club
JIMS and Kingdom youth finished their summer adventures in style – the faithful ladies climbed Binian in August 2011. Although not all were sure they see the view from the top, our group ventured on and enjoyed the reward.
In addition to Binian, the walking club enjoyed Knockchree (the hill), a beach walk from Kilkeel to Cranfield, and a great afternoon in the Silent Valley. Many of our wilderness trips were new to the local youth – including the Valley.
Not only did the two clubs get exercise, but we all took advantage of the Valley Cafe and Maud’s – allowing us to better build friendships.
A huge thanks goes to the leaders who were willing to drive and staff various trips:
Genevieve Murnion
Peter Thompson
Dave McIlveen
David McIlroy
The walking club was funded by the International Fund for Ireland.
