Week Two: Midnight Football

Week Two: Midnight Football

The second week of our competition brought the Net into play…At the end of the night, Kingdom B remained in the lead – we’ll see what happens at the final.

Once more, the boys participated in games, coaching, and a seminar.

This week, the games were a bit more competitive as we saw the Kingdom teams play each other – all determined to win the prize!

Kingdom B put a good distance between themselves and all other teams winning both of their matches. Second place will be fought over by Longstone, Kingdom C, Kingdom A, and the Net on the 4th March 2011.

Following on from Gaelic coaching, Jason Nugent and Warren Nugent joined us Friday to teach the basic battle moves in rugby. Overall, the teams enjoyed their quick lesson.

Miss Rebecca Dean, currently interning at Mourne Presbyterian, facilitated a seminar drawing out the social injustices around our world – focusing on Invisible Children.

Once more, we’re very thankful to the International Fund for Ireland – who’ve funded this project and alllowed us a successful second night of competition and learning.
