‘Whistle While You Work’

‘Whistle While You Work’

Our first week of work certainly full of sweat, laughs, and energy.

The team of 28 were an encouragement to the community and exhibited amazing attitudes.

Overall, our team enjoyed the hard work that was given them up Hillside Drive. The youth and leaders did everything from wedding driveways to cutting hedges. There were two major jobs that took a day each: one back garden and the community hedge at the bottom of Newry Street.

Members of the community thanked the team stating that the youth did things that they just couldn’t get to for various reasons (such as remove wardrobes, chairs, and other large items).

Although it was our fourth year in the area, this year our team made some lasting relationships – which we hope to build upon throughout the coming year. The team hosted a treasure hunt for the children Friday afternoon; through which parents, children, and team members spent time getting to know each other. This was a great venue for the team to meet community members and shine God’s love to them.

One our of young people commented that it was a better than she expected…she was encouraged by the busy work, Bible studies, and great fellowship.

Thanks to all who supported the first week in prayer, food, and donations.
