Weekly and Monthly
Kingdom Youth Club JIMS and Kingdom have been partnering in many recent activities in order to create better relationships and understanding between different sections of the community. In 2009 JIMS and KYC partnered in hosting a midnight football scheme in March of 2009, traveled to M & D’s theme park in Scotland, and enjoyed a weekend out at a recent Manchester United Match in England. We have tried to hold a partner project each month to continue strengthening the relationships between the youth of JIMS and KYC.
School’s Work Each week volunteers from JIMS join with local school staff in working with the young people from the community in their school setting. At St. Columban’s volunteers spend time with the 3rd year students discussing citizenship. They focus on the idea of respect: respecting yourself, respecting others, respecting the community.
Kilkeel High School Relationship In the past year our relationship with Kilkeel High School has truly deepened and developed. This is largely in part of the JIMS Crew of 2007 – 2009 committing to attend the Junior and Senior Scripture Union meetings. In 2009, JIMS was able to commit a Crew member to join the leadership team of SU – this has opened doors for both SU and JIMS in continuing to build relationships with the youth of Kilkeel.
